Book Blogger Hop (4)

Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly feature hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy For Books. It is designed in the spirit of Twitter's Follow Friday, allowing readers and book bloggers to connect with one another.

This week's question: Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?

There are very few times when I read more than one book. An exception would be if I decide to pick up something non-fiction (a rare occurrence, I must say), then I would read a fiction at the same time, depending on what mood I was in. But yah, generally I focus on only one book -- I don't like to confuse plot lines and characters, and I like being invested in one story at a time. That's why I also read book series in a row if several (or all) of the books are released.

P.S. If you're a TV lover, come check out my TV Favourites post where I discuss some of my favourite shows and why I like them. I'd love to hear more from people about what they look for in their favourite shows.

  1. We think alike! And yeah, sometimes I hold off on getting started with a book series until the author has finished writing them, then I read the whole thing sequentially.

  3. Stopping through on the hop. I usually read one book at a time, but I have to have a book with me at all times. If I forget my book, I start a new one.

  5. I almost never read two books at one time. The exception is that I will have one physical book that I am reading, and an audiobook on my ipod that I have checked out from the library.

  6. Hopping through. I usually read more than one book at a time - especially if I'm reading a non-fiction book.

  7. Happy Friday, Ashley! I'm one of those people that could probably read more than one at once, but I don't want to because I lose myself in a story. Why be in two worlds at once?

i'm with you about the books. I get so invested that I have to know what happened to the characters. I can't go to something else until I know. (Which makes cliffy books TORTURE.Because then I can't sleep! haha

  9. I usually read several books at one time, and it does get confusing, but it sadly doesn't stop me. I just can't help myself. :(

    Have a great weekend!

  10. Definitely agree! I like being sucked into a story and hopping back and forth between books doesn't allow me to do that.

  11. Stopping from the hop. Reading too many books at once does get confusing. I always try, but then one more book gets more interesting so I just read that instead. I look forward to reading more of your reviews.
