Synopsis: (from Goodreads)
My name is Meaghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stay by my side. Drag me into the core of a conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
My Thoughts:
What a perfect third book to the Iron Fey series! This book has practically everything you could look for in a novel... drama, action, suspense, romance, humour, etc. I’m finding it hard to describe exactly what was so good about this book, mostly because I enjoyed it so much. I loved reconnecting with Meghan, Ash, Puck, and Grim, and I appreciated the perfect mixture of battlefield action and quiet romance.
I’ve always been a fan of Puck, but Ash has been growing on me since ‘The Iron Daughter’. I really appreciate how Julie Kagawa has written her love triangle and where she has taken it in this book. ‘The Iron Queen’ allows readers to get to know Ash even better, and to see the softer side of him, a side that makes me understand a bit why Meghan fell for him in the first place.
This book offers a satisfying conclusion to the Iron Fey plotline, while the epilogue gives readers a hint of what Ash’s story, The Iron Knight (Book 4), will be about. Overall, this is a really exciting and well-written series, and I would have a hard time coming up with anything negative to say about ‘The Iron Queen’. Definitely recommended.

I loved this one too! I'm glad she really opened up to Ash more because in the first two books I didn't see what the big deal was about him.
ReplyDeleteYay Ashley! I absolutely adored this one, and I'm now dying for Ash's point of view! I've been an Ash fan from the beginning, I tend to be a glutton for punishment by loving the difficult boys, but I adore Puck as well:) Nice review!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading this book now. Taking my time with it to make the series last.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm Team Ash, but I like Puck too and see that it would be a tough for Meghan to decide between them.
Glad you liked this series. I enjoyed your review!
