Future Reads is a feature on Book Labyrinth where I sporadically post about books coming out in the near (or not so near!) future and explain why I want to read them. This feature is inspired by memes and features like Waiting on Wednesday and Books to Pine For. I hope you'll discover something you want to read as well! (All title links will take you to Goodreads.)
Where She Went by Gayle Forman
Release Date: April 5, 2011
I have to say that I'm late to the game with wanting to read this one. I avoided 'If I Stay' like the plague for a while, because sometimes I really can't handle sad books... however, I decided to give it a go, and I'm so glad I did. I can absolutely handle sad books when they're as beautiful and hopeful as 'If I Stay', so I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens in this one.
Back When You Were Easier to Love by Emily Wing Smith
Release Date: April 28, 2011
I first heard of this book when I signed up for the Contemps challenge, and I can't wait to read it. I love road trip novels, and I generally really like dual narratives, where part of the story is told through flashbacks, so this one sounds great.
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Release Date: May 3, 2011
So, the cover's a bit Eye of Sauron-y, isn't it? But I like it all the same. Basically, everyone who has read this seems to absolutely adore it, and I trust my fellow bloggers' opinions. Dystopia, factions, secrets. It all sounds amazing to me.
Flawless by Lara Chapman
Release Date: May 10, 2011
A modern retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac with a main character named Sarah Burke. Love it! Matchmaking, romance, and embracing your flaws? It sounds so cute and good.
Hourglass by Myra McEntire
Release Date: May 24, 2011
Apparitions, secret organizations, mystery, and romance? This sounds like a paranormal/sci-fi that is definitely my taste. And how about that cover? I've seen so many people comment on how cool it is, and I totally agree.
I hope you've enjoyed these future reads! What not yet released books are you looking forward to?
I cannot wait for Divergent and Hourglass, both of those look amazing! I need to read If I Stay so I can get excited about Where She Went, I've heard nothing but good things about those books:) Fabulous future read choices Ashley!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so jealous for Where She Went. I absolutely can't wait to get this as soon as its released. If I Stay was definitely beautiful :)

ReplyDeleteI'm just dying to read all of these! From those who have already read Divergent, I hear it's incredible. I can't wait! :)
ReplyDeleteIF I STAY was definitely a good book. I can't wait to read it's sequel. :)
ReplyDeleteYour description for BACK WHEN YOU WERE EASIER TO LOVE reminds me of TWO-WAY STREET by Lauren Barnholdt, which I absolutely LOVED. You should check that out if you haven't read it yet.
I've been debating on and off to read DIVERGENT or not. Sounds interesting, but at the same time I dunno.
Just added FLAWLESS to my list and I have HOURGLASS on there as well.
I'm so excited for Where She Went, Divergent and Hourglass! They all sound like they're going to be AMAZING!! :)
