Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing Me
1. Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan:
My library finally got this one in, and I can see why everyone was flipping out over it! It definitely became one of my favourites of the year, and is the latest addition to my Christmas wish list.
2. Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood:
I really enjoyed this book, so I'd love a copy of my own to re-read before book 2 comes out in June.
3. Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler:
I just recently reviewed this one despite reading it back in January. It's such a perfect winter read, and I'm a big fan of Sarah's.
4. Burn for Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian:
This was such a fun read! I love both these authors, and their collaboration was fantastic.
5. Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong:
Well, almost all of them. I own 4 already, but I've been reading them from the library, and would love to collect the rest to get signed the next time I see Kelley (she's a local author, so I've been to a couple of her signings, and would gladly go again -- it's always a fun time!).
6. Unsaid Things: Our Story by McFly:
And now for something totally different... hey, it's non-fiction! I'm a big fan of the UK group McFly, so I actually really want to read this one. I'm sure it's crazy and ridiculous, but should be fun(ny).
7. The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke:
This book surprised me with how awesome it was, so I'd love a finished copy of my own.
8. Enthralled anthology edited by Kelley Armstrong & Melissa Marr:
There are a few stories in here I REALLY enjoy, and I didn't get a chance to read the whole thing when I checked it out from the library.
9. Storm & Spark by Brigid Kemmerer:
I actually own these in ebook form, but I want hard copies for ultimate re-reading and loaning out to friends potential. So good!!
10. Endlessly by Kiersten White:
Already read this one from the library, but I must own it to finish off the trilogy.
You can probably tell a lot about my reading habits from this post. I don't tend to buy books (or even add them to my wishlist) unless I've already read and enjoyed them, whether it be through review copies or the public library. That's probably a good thing, because my bookshelves are out of control as it is!
I'm excited to see which books have caught your eye this holiday season. Leave your links and I will gladly comment back.
Born Wicked would have been a nice addition to my list, but so would many others. It is hard to limit a list to ten books. May Santa leave you something wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT...
I actually had a hard time coming up with 10 titles that I *really* want (minus the series, which easily brings me up to 10), mostly because a lot of the titles I'm really wishing for are sequels coming out in the new year.
DeleteI do the same thing as far as buying books go, and I totally mention that in my TTT. I only really want to own books that I have read. I really can't wait to read Burn for Burn, I'm glad you liked it. Born Wicked is also on my list- I absolutely love the cover and I really enjoyed the book.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading,
My TTT
Exactly, I don't really think there's a point to owning something unless you know you're going to re-read it because you love it (exception being sequels and auto-buy authors).
DeleteGood list, I had Born Wicked on my list as well.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, that's so random that it's on at least a few of our lists. =)
DeleteGood luck! I hope you get many of these for Christmas. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex! =)
DeleteI'm surprised by how many you've already read. I think I would be doing the same though, if my family didn't tell me I couldn't ask for any books this year (because I get them free anyways or I have too many already...grr!!!). Hope some of your wishes come true :D
ReplyDeleteHaha, my Mom is willing to get me some books but she did say "I want a Christmas list from you, and not all books!"
DeleteI am the same way, I only buy a book if it is one I have loved or it is by a favorite author. Otherwise, my books are from the library or review copies. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you find some of these under your tree! Have a great week!
Glad to hear other people do the same thing.
DeleteThanks so much! =)
McFly! I just got into them recently after seeing Tom's sister's YouTube videos ... they're great!
ReplyDeleteI'm really trying to only buy books I love ... I find I'm less disappointed that way!
That's awesome how Carrie's videos are what randomly got you into them. So cool!
DeleteI like how you approached the list. It is great to own hard copies of the books you love. Bittersweet and Burn for Burn are two I'd like to own too. And I'm excited to read Unspoken!
ReplyDeleteHope your wish list gets fulfilled :)
Thanks Lucy! =)
DeleteI went out and bought The Assassin's Curse AS SOON as it was available! I love it so much!! All the other books on your list look fabulous as well - hope you get them! :)

Yes, The Assassin's Curse is so good!!
DeleteI feel very similarly about the whole actually buying books thing. Don't want or need to buy too many. Also, ebooks are definitely not as easy to reread!
ReplyDeleteThe Assassin's Curse was very good. Also, I've heard good things about Unspoken. I really need to read it.
I love skimming my favourite parts, and ebooks are definitely bad for that. =(
DeleteUnspoken looks great! :) I read some of Sarah Rees Brennan's writing when she wrote fan-fiction and it was so good :) Hope you enjoy it and have a great Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteOh that's very fun! It seems like there are a lot of authors lately who have fanfic roots.
DeleteHiya, what a great list!
ReplyDeleteI just read Kendare Blake's Anna, Dressed in Blood. It's very good. I'm also reading Justin Cronin's sequel to The Passage, which I totally devoured.
Glad you enjoyed Anna! I really liked it as well.
DeleteI liked Burn for Burn. I was so flabbergasted by the end, though. Frustrating! I can't wait for the next one to come out.
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, the end was pretty crazy, eh??
DeleteBurn for Burn was a pretty good book! I hope you enjoy it if you end up getting it was a gift. :)
ReplyDeleteLeanne Yang
Escaping With Books
I read it from Netgalley and I enjoyed it quite a bit. =)
Deleteyou are one of those people who loves to own all your favorite books!! i prefer to check books out of the library, i only like to own reference/travel books etc.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, I love hearing what other peoples book "customs" are. Yes, I definitely have a huge collection of fiction. I read very few non-fiction titles.
DeleteI really enjoyed Bittersweet and am looking forward to checking out Unspoken. I'm the same way about buying books. I have limited space, so I want to make sure I love a book and am going to read it over and over before I own it.
ReplyDeleteMy space is already completely taken, so I completely agree with that thought. I'm working on reading some of the piles I've accumulated since blogging and then donating the titles if they aren't going to be re-read.
DeleteGooood list! Enthralled was a great anthology, but then, I'll read anything with Kelley Armstrong in it. I also want Endlessly--I'd like to wrap up that series in time for Mind Games, when it finally comes out.
ReplyDeleteYes, gotta love Kelley Armstrong!! So fab. =D
