This week I'm eagerly anticipating...
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown
by Holly Black
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Release Date: September 3, 2013
Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave.
One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black
This one has been on my radar for quite a while. Usually vampire stories don't pique my interest, but this one sounds so unique, and I love how Holly adapted it from a short story she wrote.
I am very eager to read TCGiC too. I've read a couple books by Black and really enjoyed them. Great pick

Yes! This one looks super good ... I've seen it around for quite some time now and thought it was out already. I'll be sure to add this to my TBR! :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see the title of this book something about it makes me cringe. I haven't figured out what it is about it that makes me react but maybe once I read the book I won't feel so out-of-place.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pick. Thanks for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteSomething about this title or cover seems so creepy to me! Like you, I don't read a lot of vampire stories but this one does look intriguing. Can't wait to hear what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm completely with you. I'm intrigued by this even though I don't usually pick up vampire books. Great pick!

I think this one looks really cool too-I don't read much vampire mythology but I trust Black to have a really unique take on it.
