Never Fade
(The Darkest Minds #2)
by Alexandra Bracken
Publisher: Disney Hyperion
Release Date: October 15, 2013
Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”, but she knows what she really is: a monster.
When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.
As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?
I'm cheating again, because I've had the privilege of reading this one from Netgalley. I loveeee this series so much, but I feel like not a lot of bloggers are talking about it. You can read my review of The Darkest Minds to see how much I loved the first book, and I enjoyed this one just as much.
DEFINITELY! Plus, I really like the cover, with the pretty colors and everything.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I can't wait to see it in person.
DeleteI still need to read this! GAH! Both books. Sad thing is? I have them both.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's cheating to put a book you've read. You're just trying to give it some extra lovin'.
I think you would like them! My mom is reading them now and she kept saying "this is so good!" Or telling me about the parts she liked, which she never really does.
DeleteYes, extra lovin is a good way of putting it lol. I put them on a list to feature and then "oh I've read this now.... but I still want people to know about it!" ... so I figure it works. :)
I totally need to start this series! I may have the first one. I can't remember. For some reason, I always get this series confused with Black City. Glad it's so goood!
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to read this from NetGalley, too! I can't wait until the release so I can get my copy. Wasn't it just simply amazing?
ReplyDeleteI really want to check this series out-it sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this one! LOVED The Darkest Minds. :)
