I KNOW. I don't even know how to describe how excited I am to meet these authors.
This event is so much fun. It's definitely geared toward teens and the local high schools (as it should be!), but if you're not-so-YA anymore, don't worry, because my Mom and I felt perfectly welcome last year.
You can check out my recap post from 2012 to get an idea of what the event is like.

Will you be attending TBF this year?? If so, let me know! I'd love to meet up. =)
What a PHENOMENAL LINEUP!!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?? They always have such great authors, and there are so many this year!
DeleteI'm going!!!! I'm debating on whether or not I need a companion because I have so many books I want signed and I'm not sure I can carry them all or even be able to get them signed in the 1hr 45min devoted to signing. But I doubt my mom or hubby would want to stay for everything. Well, maybe. Hmm, not sure yet. Last time I didn't go until 12:30. I think I want to go earlier, from the beginning but at the same time I wonder if it will be too long for me. I don't know if any other bloggers are going besides me and you.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a small rolling suitcase? I brought one last year, because I got SO MANY books signed, and it worked like a charm. A bit dorky, but it totally saved my back/shoulders. No regrets. ;)
DeleteI did have my Mom with me, and will again, and that definitely helped for getting stuff signed. I stood in line for the author I really, really wanted to meet, and she went to the others, and we got done in time.
I was there for the whole day last year and it didn't feel too long or anything. The gameshow at the beginning was a lot of fun, so I'm sure whatever they come up with this time will be good too.
I'm surprised that there aren't more people aware of it or more people going. Maybe there aren't a lot of bloggers in the area? I mean, it's about 4 hours away from me, but I think it's worth it for an awesome event and a little mini-vacation.
That is a good idea! I feel bad but I am buying most books beforehand just because they are so expensive there. But Susane Colasanti's latest book comes out the Tues after I believe so I'm hoping they will have it there to buy.
DeleteI may try my mom. She might be interested enough to go too. I hate going places myself anyways. lol I'm so paranoid about the signings because last year I only went to like 4-5 authors but it took an hour JUST for Laurie Halse Anderson. I'm trying to think who the big one will be this year but they seem very evenly matched. A lot of great authors this year.
I know of a couple other semi local bloggers but I don't really know them too much, or well they don't know me. lol So I'm not sure if they are going. I did talk briefly with a couple others who mentioned maybe going but that was months ago. This is a really huge event, more people have to be there.
It makes me feel better that your mom is going. Maybe that will help me convince my mom. :)
I think they'll probably have Susane's book... I remember last year they had Melissa Walker's newest one, even though it was coming out the next Tuesday.
DeleteHmmmm yes, there have be other bloggers around, you would think. I mean, I know not everyone can come from as far as I am, but I also know a lot of other big events that people travel far for... hmmm.
Yes, my Mom and I go to a lot of books events together! It's always a bit funny, since most of them are YA, but oh well, we always have a great time.
