Re-Reads of 2011

Books I Re-Read in 2011

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I re-read it twice this year, actually. It's pretty much my go-to if I'm sad and need something to make me feel better.

Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway
A very funny book, and there seemed to be a resurgence of people reading it this year.

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
This book is so incredibly smart and funny. One of my favourites.

The Princess Diaries 1 - 5 by Meg Cabot
I finally bought the last few PD books, and I was attempting to read them all through. Um yah, that didn't happen.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver
I wanted to read my pretty finished copy! Really enjoyed this one.

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
The first time I read it I was up until like 3 in the morning just flying through the pages. I wanted to read it at a more leisurely pace. So freaking gorgeous.

Just One Wish by Janette Rallison
This book is so cute and fun, and I was just in the mood for it.

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Absolutely adored this book, and I loved it just as much the 2nd time around.

My Fair Godmother by Janette Rallison
Wanted to re-read this one before My Unfair Godmother, even though they're technically just companion books.

Bloom by Elizabeth Scott
After reading Between Here and Forever and knowing there was a connection between the two books I had to re-read this one to find out what that connection was.

Heist Society by Ally Carter
Re-read this one before reading Uncommon Criminals. So much fun!

The Body Finder & Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting
I wrote a post for Jay as part of The YA Bachelor event that Amber hosted earlier in the year, so I re-read the books to get quotes and details.

Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park
I had read it for review and lovedddd it (which you will obviously know if you read my blog, haha), so once I had bought my own copy I really wanted to experience it again. So great!

The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney
Really loved this one, and I wanted it fresh in my mind when I read 'The Rivals'

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Re-read before that emotional trauma also known as Clockwork Prince, and I'm really glad I did because it left the events of the book and the characters fresh in my mind.

  1. I think I've read Anna and the French Kiss 3 times! I love that one so much! I read Frankie this year too and absolutely adored it! I love Heist Society too, so I guess I reread is in order for that one as well. Great Post! :)

  2. Wow I do not blame you -- most of these are books I've reread too. Such good picks!

  3. I've always re-read stuff, I just enjoy it.
I try not to do it so much but I can't help myself. :D

  4. I've definitely re-read Anna and the French Kiss a bunch of times this year, it's such a great feel-good story! I can re-read any of Cassandra Clares books and learn something new each time, love that about her books:) I need to read Heist Society for sure, I've heard such great things! Awesome list Ashley:)

  5. I always re-read the first book in a series if too much time has passed between it and the next book. :) And Clockwork Angel is definitely re-readable.

  6. You are such good people to re-read! I have a pile I want to re-read, one of the reasons I keep my library, but never seem to have time. Love ANNA and Clare's books.

  7. I reread Audrey, Wait! all the time. That and Prisoner of Azkaban are my two go-to rereads! (:

  8. Hope you had a good Christmas as well! I'll have to take a closer look on this list. Any book good enough for a re-read is worth taking a look at ;)

  9. OMG! I totally reread the Princess Diaries books all the time too! All 785732895701805680136 of them (Errrrr.... Or I guess more like 12 or something ;) ).

I tried to reread CA before reading CP but I couldn't make myself- I only find CA to be "meh"-ish, but (as you know) I love CP! By far one of the most improved book series IMO. ;)

  10. Ooh, I was actually thinking about re-reading the PD series, but I changed my mind at the last minute and decided instead to re-read The Mediator series. =)

  11. I don't normally re-read books but Anna and the French Kiss, Just One Wish, Amy and Roger's Epic Detour and Heist Society are ones I'd re-read if I had the time. I'm hoping to read The Sky is Everywhere and Delirium next year.

  12. My most re-read book is Romeo and Juliet. :)
Every year I teach 9th grade English, and every year we do R&J. It's a good thing I like the play.

I've read Audrey, Wait before. I recall liking it fairly well.

  13. I re-read ANNA after getting it for Christmas! Still love it :D

I totally wish the others in the Ruby Red series were translated...hopefully soon! *crosses fingers*

And I will put it on my mental list to remind you throughout 2012 to read The Host! :P Book pushers FTW :D

  14. Good list! Definitely enjoyed Delirium. Unfortunately, can't say the same for Princess Diaries. I really wanted to like these books, but I honestly couldn't stand Mia's character voice. This was one of the rare cases where I enjoyed the movies more than I did the books.

Here's wishing you a 2012 filled with health, happiness, and lots of good reads!

  15. Some of these I haven't read yet, some of these I read for the first time this year, and some of them I need to re-read as well. =D Great post!

  16. Wow. I don't really like re-reading books. The only one I re-read because I loved it so much was The Time Traveler's Wife. Otherwise, I've re-read books because I had to.

  17. Lori -- Mia kind of drives me crazy, but I love her at the same time. I definitely got sick of her a bit after reading 5 books in a row, though.

Christy -- Aw that's too funny. I think it's cool that people are different, though. I've always been a re-reader, reading my favourites over and over. If I hadn't had so many review books I probably would have re-read even more this year.

  18. Audrey Wait is my friend's favorite book and I still can't believe I haven't read it yet, so to see you reread it makes me want to read it even more! Now I really want to read my finished copy of Delirium too! You reread a lot of great books this year Ashley!

  19. oh i SO love that you reread. i do all the time as well (sometimes just my fave passages, sometimes the entire book)

I like to reread Elizabeth Scott ~ she is one of my fave comfort reads :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment; I appreciate each one!
