Waiting on Wednesday (6)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where bloggers feature upcoming book releases that they're looking forward to.

This week I'm eagerly anticipating...

Mind Games
by Kiersten White

Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: February 19, 2013

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Fia was born with flawless instincts. Her first impulse, her gut feeling, is always exactly right. Her sister, Annie, is blind to the world around her—except when her mind is gripped by strange visions of the future.

Trapped in a school that uses girls with extraordinary powers as tools for corporate espionage, Annie and Fia are forced to choose over and over between using their abilities in twisted, unthinkable ways… or risking each other’s lives by refusing to obey.

In a stunning departure from her New York Times bestselling Paranormalcy trilogy, Kiersten White delivers a slick, edgy, heartstoppingly intense psychological thriller about two sisters determined to protect each other—no matter the cost.

Add it on Goodreads.

I loved the Paranormalcy books by Kiersten White, and this one sounds fabulous as well! I was already eager for it, but some early reviews have put it even higher on my TBR list.

  1. I started this one! So far it's quite good! I wasn't a fan of the Paranormalcy series, but I am enjoying this!

    1. Good to know! PARANORMALCY was okay, but we didn't love the characters enough to finish the series. This one sounds really cool though, and we've got the ARC so we can't wait to read it!

    2. Awesome! I got the eARC after writing up this post, and I can say that it's definitely very different from those books... so it's definitely reasonable to think that they could have different fan bases.

    1. Usually I like UK versions better than North American, but in this case after reading the book I think "Mind Games" fits a LOT better than "Sister Assassin"... I'd be curious to read UK reviews versus North American to see the response based on preconceived notions due to title/cover.

    1. Yes, it's pretty insane... I got an eARC after writing up this post, and read it almost right away. It's hard to review coherently, that's for sure.

  7. I really enjoyed Paranormalcy, but I've heard mixed things about this one so I'm not sure if I'll read it. This cover is stunning, though! :)

    1. I would say it's well worth a read, but you have to be open to narration that's pretty stream of consciousness and not very linear. Still I think it sounds scarier than what it is.
