 What we are doing

We are reading books from our TBR lists. It's so easy to get distractrated when it comes to choosing the next book to read. New books come along, library finds are intriguing, and don't forget that random buy at the store! This challenge is designed to encourage us to read the books on our list. Since most of us also have a huge TBR list, it's also designed to make our choices limited and therefore easier to pick our next read.

When we are doing it

The challenge will run from June 1st to August 31st, 2012

The rules

• Make a list of 25 books you'd like to read this summer (or which you've been meaning to read for a while) from your TBR list
• Make a goal of how many books you'd like to read off this list during the summer
• The only rule is you cannot change the books that you added to your list of 25 options once it is posted

2012 New Adult Challenge

I love me some YA (duh!), but I also love books with older YA characters -- those ones that qualify as "new adult" ... that age where the characters aren't quite part of general fiction, but don't belong in high school either. So I'm thrilled that Danya is hosting a New Adult reading challenge for 2012.

I think I'll aim for the "Moving Out" level, which is 6 books, but we'll see!

Here are some books I'm thinking about reading:

• Jane by April Lindner
• Charmed Thirds, Fourth Comings, & Perfect Fifths (aka the Jessica Darling books I haven't read) by Megan McCafferty
• The Host by Stephanie Meyer
• Chicagoland Vampires series (starting with 'Some Girls Bite') by Chloe Neill
• Shifters series (starting with 'Stray') by Rachel Vincent

And here are some suggestions of AWESOME books that qualify for the challenge:

• Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park (have I mentioned how much I love this?!)
• Secret Society Girl series by Diana Peterfreund (so. much. love. I really should write a review for these because I ADORE them)
• Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine (technically Claire is high school age, but she's a college student, and the other 3 are graduated; love!!)

2012 DAC Challenge

I guess it's that time of year! 2012 is almost upon us (eek, how did that happen?!), and it's time to sign up for the 2012 Debut Author Challenge.

So far in 2011 I have read & reviewed 27 (!) DAC books, and I think I've read even more.

The goal of the challenge is simple: read & review a minimum of 12 debut YA/MG books between January 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013.
