Stacking the Shelves (13)

"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where bloggers can share the latest books they've received and discover new titles while visiting other blogs.

Here's what I've received over the past few weeks:

For Review:

Huge thanks to Penguin Canada:
- Just One Day by Gayle Forman
- The Madness Underneath (Shades of London #2) by Maureen Johnson

These are two of my most anticipated books of 2013, so needless to say I was THRILLED to be able to receive ARCs of them.

From Netgalley:
- Tempestuous by Kim Askew and Amy Helmes
- Exposure by Kim Askew and Amy Helmes
- The Girl in the Wall by Daphne Benedis-Grab
- The Lives We Lost (Fallen World #2) by Megan Crewe

Thanks to the authors:
- The Kiss Off by Sarah Billington
- Impossible by Komal Lewis

For blog tour:
- The Warlock's Curse by M.K. Hobson

Gifted from Robin Brande:

- Freefall by Elizabeth Ruston
- Fire & Ice (Hearts on Fire #2) by Elizabeth Ruston

Robin has begun to write adult romance novels under the name Elizabeth Ruston, and she is always so incredibly sweet to send her books my way, with no obligation for review or anything. You can check out my Goodreads review for 'Freefall' here -- it's a really sweet book featuring some amazing characters.

I would also be remiss not to mention the awesome Ontario Book Blogger Meetup for 2012, which occurred on November 3 in Toronto. I was privileged enough to attend for the 2nd year in a row. I received a ton of amazing books through trade/giveaway from fellow bloggers, and through the generosity of all the Canadian publishers who were part of the meet up. I feel bad not doing a huge recap for the event, but I just don't feel up to it right now. I'm excited to check out all the books I received through the event, especially Sever by Lauren DeStefano. I adored Wither, but I felt kind of so-so toward Fever, so I'm definitely excited to see where the trilogy ends.

And those are my awesome titles. Can't wait to see which books are stacking your shelves this week. =)

  1. Oh...some great books there! I just finished The Girl in the Wall (be forewarned, the e-Arc is a little messed up...at least mine was) and just won Warlock's curse! I would love to see your recap of the meet-up even if it's not for a while. Yay for Sever! The Madness Underneath looks so good too :)

  2. I loved Wither too, and while Fever wasn't as good, I still can't wait to read Sever. Seeing that the ARCs of it our out makes me so happy, and I can't wait to read it!!

  3. Just One Day! I think I saw you give it 5 stars on Goodreads? I am looking forward to that one, and of course your review. I really want to get my hands on a copy of Sever. I love the series, and even Fever, and am curious on how it will all end. :)

    1. Yes, I felt conflicted over some parts of it, but I still loved other parts enough for 5 stars because I couldn't stop thinking about it afterward!

    1. I know, I was SO incredibly psyched. It's rare that I freak out about ARCs, but that was one that I was dying for. I hope you can get a copy, and otherwise hopefully console yourself that it's only a couple/few months away. :S

    1. I'm not sure what the policy is now that Netgalley is all changed.. I've heard some bloggers get it. Personally I've always had access to them because of my status being librarian (even though I haven't actually worked in a library yet).

So good to see you too! I wish I was a bit closer to TO so I could hang out with all of you more often.
