Stacking the Shelves (10)

"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where bloggers can share the latest books they've received and discover new titles while visiting other blogs.

It's been about a month since I last did a STS post, so here are the highlights:

Bought:

- Werewolves by Kelley Armstrong (includes Bitten, Stolen, and Beginnings novella)

Looking forward to starting this series! It'll definitely be my next big reading endeavour once I get through a few more review books.

- Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Fearless by Brigid Kemmerer

I read 'Obsidian' from Netgalley, so I decided to buy my own copy and re-read it before 'Onyx' came out. I liked 'Obsidian' a lot more upon re-read, and 'Onyx' was fabulous.

I had no clue that 'Fearless' (an Elementals novella) had been released! I still need to read it, but I'm definitely intrigued what it will reveal about Hunter's past.

For Review:

From Macmillan:
- Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff

From Netgalley:
- Shadowlands by Kate Brian
- Lies that Bind by Lisa & Laura Roecker
- Spark by Brigid Kemmerer (special thanks to Vida for making this happen)
- My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris

Really looking forward to reading 'Shadowlands'! I've been reading Kate Brian/Kieran Scott/Emma Harrison for about 6 years now, so I'm excited to see what she does next.

Spark was FABULOUS -- my review will be posted tomorrow.

From Raincoast Books & Macmillan:
- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

*flails*

From author for blog tour:
- Stitch by Samantha Durante

Gifted:

- Enclave by Ann Aguirre

For hitting 300 reviews on Amazon, Ann gave away 300 copies (!) of the book on Kindle. I was lucky enough to get one, and I'm looking forward to re-reading it soon.

  1. Great books this week. Looking forward to your review of Stormdancer.... I'm torn on this one. Not sure if I want to pick it up or not. Not sure it's my cup of tea.

    1. I wasn't sure either, but I got asked if I wanted to review it and since there are so many fab reviews I figured why not. =)

  3. WOW! So many amazing books this week! SUPER jealous you have Shadowlands! And Scarlet! Though I still need to read Cinder. Looking forward to it though because she'll be at the Rochester TBF in May! And Stitch sounds so awesome so I'll be on the lookout for your review for that one too. :)

    2. Oh good, I'm so glad its good! Because I was worried for a minute, that even though I knew it was going to good, I was hoping for a continuation of Cinder's story...but I heard she does make appearances in this one. :)

    3. I was a tad worried too because I adore Cinder as a character, but she definitely gets a big enough story arc. And believe me, you will totally fall for Scarlet too. I never found myself wanting to go back to Cinder's part of the story over hers... they're both awesome!

    4. That's great to hear! But is Cinder mentioned at all in Scarlet??

    5. Yes absolutely! They almost have equal narration time, or at least it felt like it.

  7. I can't wait to start the Kelley Armstrong series!! It looks sooo good! And Shadowlands and My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century look really good! I've heard mixed reviews about Enclave -- not sure if I'll check it out or not.

    Enjoy your reads! :)

    1. I'm excited for Women of the Otherworld... I love Kelley's YA and everyone talks about how fabulous her adult books are.

I liked Enclave. I wouldn't say it's wholly original, but it was worth a read just for the fact it's such a page turner.

Hope you enjoy each of them :)

    1. I actually just requested it from Melissa, but there should be a newsletter soon as well.

I'm excited! I don't know when I'll get to read it, but hopefully in the next couple of months.

    2. Yeah, I did too about a month or two ago... Oh well, hopefully like you said it will be in the newsletter!

And I know! I always run into that problem when I get ARCs too, read them now because YOU HAVE TO OR YOU WILL DIE or wait until a more realistic time... ;)

    3. Did you request an ebook or a hard copy? Maybe that makes a difference.

OH I should have specified, I meant Women of the Otherworld I don't know when I'll start it.

Scarlet... oh gosh I already read it. I re-read Cinder even, and then read Scarlet... it was EPIC FABULOUS. I can't wait to talk about Wolf & Thorne with you. =b

  10. So apparently my first comment got eaten. Boo. You got so many awesome book goodies this week Ashley! I had no idea Shadowlands was on NetGalley, I'm going to run over there as soon as I'm done typing and see if I can find it:) I'm DYING for Scarlet, I adored Cinder and cannot wait for more of that series. I'm in love with Spark as well, one of my favorite reads of the year so far for sure:)
